Darmstadt Graduate School of Energy Science and Engineering

The Graduate School of Energy Science and Engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt enables PhD students to develop their scientific skills in a focused way, and to cooperate under optimal conditions in a stimulating interdisciplinary environment. With our master's program Energy Science and Engineering we offer a highly integrative education, covering a wide spectrum of topics in the fields of energy research and modern energy technologies.

Graduate school moving into the Research Field E+E

After the completion of the DFG-funded Excellence Phase (2013-2019), the Graduate School is in a transitional phase on its way to becoming part of the Research Field Energy and Environment (E+E) of the TU Darmstadt. New admissions are still possible.

Graduate School and Doctoral Process

A requirement for membership as a graduate in the Graduate School is a doctoral project at the TU Darmstadt or an ongoing doctoral process (e.g. an industrial doctorate) in the subject area of Energy and Environment. The Graduate School does not offer any doctoral positions.

What we currently offer

During the transition phase, services are offered to a limited extent:

  • Further training and networking opportunities
  • Promotion of international mobility
  • Scholarships and mentoring (expected from mid/end 2023)

Graduate School and Master's Programme

We recommend the Master's programme in Energy Science and Engineering as one possible interdisciplinary qualification path or as preparation for a doctorate that fits into the Research Field of E+E and can thus provide an important prerequisite for admission to the graduate school.
